nope, and i'm not from where you are, which is about all that's keeping me leaving nick alone, so be glad about that
[ even if he wasn't KN, there's too much similarity between alva, nick and steve. the houses would never let it go, and alva's life would turn into andyr's. so would the little girl in the photo alva's protecting, and andyr would gladly sail this whole fucking ship of people into the fucking sun to keep those two safe. that's just what it is. ]
it doesn't matter if we're not from the same place. they could still come here. they could still take us all
[ She thinks about that for a second, unsure how to phrase it. Cassie's sure this guy doesn't know anything about them or Division, and that's worse than knowing in some ways. It means he has no idea what they're capable of, what they've done and would do if they ever got their hands on them. ]
[ when it's 'take' and not 'kill', that's when the sirens go off in andyr's head. he's thought, back when he was young and stupid, going on that mission to hapsburg would result in him die being the saddest outcome. 'take' is always worse. ]
I don't think I can talk to her about kids, Andyr.
Not right now.
[ There are so few people on the godforsaken earth that they call home that Alva would ever die for - Miray was one of them, was because there's been three of her and each one was different, just as Andyr and Mikal had been different despite being so much of the same. And there's been so much loss. So much of it, piling up on top of each other over the past six years.
He can't lose her. He can't lose him, either. He can't lose any more than he's already lost, than they have all already lost.
How much is enough? If there's a god listening - how much is fucking enough? ]
[ shit. he should've just kept quiet and let miray do whatever the hell she wanted. ]
want me to do it?
[ does he want to? no. will it be completely miserable for him? yes. will he do it, just because he wants to spare alva from the pain of it? absolutely.
much as andyr shouts and growls and postures defiant and stubborn, there's some things he'll cave for every time. some people he'd go to the ends of the earth and back for. it's unfortunate for him that alva's one of them. ]
we came from a messed up place. you're allowed to be a little fucked in the head from it.
[ Whenever Andyr finally returns to his room, he'll find a small sheet of paper folded in half laying on his bed—probably placed their by a roommate when he asked. If opened, there's a simple sketch along with a few words just at the corner that read: ]
[ Why Rupert though? ] I think I'm gonna name the other one Spot.
[ Because he's certainly very original when it comes to naming things, and it was either that or Dodger. Maybe Sparky. He'll have to ask for a list of names if there are going to be more sketches in the future, having already tucked the one of the Betta inside his sketchbook with the rough goldfish Andyr had drawn in there. ]
