nightmarist: (provocative ☘)

[Andyr's words don't make sense to Ronan. He understands why they're being said, and why Andyr might think he needs to hear them. Reality is different, though, isn't it? No one just gives away a beloved possession.

He was stupid, that's all. It was naive of him to believe in eternal love, to daydream about marriage, to believe he might be anything more than a way to pass the time until graduation. Poor Adam. He'd only been curious, and he found himself in the claws of a needy, wretched monster.

Ronan steels himself. He takes these thoughts and he boxes them away, to be unpacked later in his dreams, in the company of night horrors. He thinks, What would Adam want out of this? and he settles on: To believe it's working.

It isn't a lie to kiss Adam with heated passion, shedding all his insecure hesitation to crush his lips against Adam's with a low purr. It isn't a lie, either, for his free hand to glide back over Andyr's thigh. Let both of them have him. Let neither feel responsible.]
